@boilingsteam Along the same lines as the AOSP situation, I don't trust Google's stewardship of the Chromium code. So all things Blink are out for me.

While Firefox is certainly become a poor option, I still feel pretty good about its forks. I prefer privacy over performance so Librewolf(as opposed to something like Zen) for desktop and Ironfox on mobile for me.

Praying for an independent project(maybe Ladybird? Servo?) to someday become a viable alternative. Browsers are hard though.

I'm starting to think browsers are hard on purpose. Why do we need such complex software to surf the web, if in the end it leads us to monopoly and corporate take over?

@kn_fk @dyrge because most of the "web" is full fledged web applications running JavaScript under the hood. So the browser becomes a second OS.

I understand but also I wonder if things could be simpler so as to make technology more accessible, less restricted.
