I joined the "LinkedOut" session today, put on by @BjornW , on day 2 of FediForum.

The session was about "building a decentralized, federated,
user-friendly, sustainable professional network application
supporting the needs of professionals, companies and recruiters".

It was difficult choice to make (to go to this session and not others) as there were many other interesting sessions at the same time!

I chose to go to the "LinkedOut" session because I had already been working a bit a Fediverse app for professionals.

...

What I have been working on is is a front-end for other Fediverse back-ends.

But, it presents a user-experience appropriate for professionals.

But, more on the "LinkedOut" session at FediForum —

During this "LinkedOut" session, there was some talk of a Fediverse application for professionals — being able to be installed on a person's personal web-site — as part of a larger web-site.

The phrase "static site" and "static web-site" weren't used, but I got the impression that that is part of what was desired

...

I think something like that (on a static web-site) is potentially possible, as I previously wrote about how to get your static web-site onto the Fediverse

At the "LinkedOut" session at FediForum, there was also talk of the same technology (that could be "installed" on a personal static web-site) also working for large shared hosts.

Another person during the "LinkedOut" session at FediForum suggested that perhaps we should thinking in terms of "ownership" rather than "hosting" — as many people aren't tech-savvvy enough to self-host.

...

Someone else also suggested that we think about WHY most people don't already rent their own Internet domain-name. And, WHY most people don't already have their own web-sites.

That this should perhaps inform what is built.

At the "LinkedOut" session at FediForum, there was also some talk about the needs of people who work in Academia.

That what people in Academia have to show-off to advance their career is different than people working in Tech, etc.

At the "LinkedOut" session at FediForum, someone also suggested that we should support the LinkedIn export format.

At the "LinkedOut" session at FediForum, I talked a bit about — the user-experience pattern I had noticed a number of people in Tech using social-media apps in a professional way.

(Which is what I was trying to "encoded" into ProToGo.)

At some Tech conferences, they aren't using LinkedIn. They are using chat applications such as Telegram for professional connections, and group chats for inter-company connections.

@reiver I'm intrigued by a federated Professional networking akin to LI but not owned by Microsoft and not covered in AI.
