This week marks the beginning of my very first client renewal season 😬

It was last fall I started moving to a flat annual pricing model that’s been working really well. Certainly for me, but I think for my clients as well.

Much easier to have a conversation about what they need on a reasonable timescale, and agree what's included at a set price, than it is to deal with lots of time tracking and invoicing.

Now I get to find out how repeatable this is 😅

Not that I haven't had recurring customers…

But a huge part of the shift to a flat rate model has been providing more things to customers. Prior to this I did a lot more, "give me access to your website" type work whereas the flat rate model is more “I'll take care of the details for you.”

Which means I provide hosting, content management, and other services. So now I have to be more proactive about what happens when my contracts end.

Hoping I don't need to formalize offboarding just yet 🤞
