Headsup to anyone who follows @Flipboard accounts:

Some of them post extremely frequently because they're run by news agencies etc, and you're getting a firehose of articles.

You can narrow this down to articles about specific topics by following the account's "magazines", sub-accounts that only show posts on certain topics.

For example @AssociatedPress posts all Associated Press articles, but @entertainment-AssociatedPress is just AP's entertainment posts.

Here's how to follow Flipboard magazines:

1. Go to a Flipboard account's profile and open its "original page" (here's how to do that: https://fedi.tips/what-are-original-pages-in-mastodon)
2. Click on a magazine you want to follow
3. Click on the magazine's Fediverse address, it looks like @ (something) @ flipboard.com
4. Paste the address into the search box in Mastodon, the magazine's profile will appear which you can follow

NOTE: In the past magazines didn't work due to federation issues, but that has been fixed.
