For those who remember North Irish guitarist Gary Moore, this live version of his song “Still got the blues” from 2008 is particularly impressive. The masterful handling of his Gibson Les Paul, his technique and the feel is just perfect.

I really wish this man had taken better care of himself. But sadly, after decades of heavy drinking, Moore died in 2011 only 58 years old.

Good singer, too

@gueuledatmosphere indeed he is — AND while playing the guitar.

I have lost count of how many modern bands I have listened to and liked a lot, until I heard them live without the pitch correction — then they sound terrible.

Stand Atlantic as well as Stellar Revival are two of my latest examples. Of course there are many other talented new artists, but it just seems so weird, that so many of the successful singers really cannot do the one thing they are famous for: Singing.

Amen to that.

I heard the studio version on the radio too many times back in the day, so I've been kinda avoiding the whole song for more than two decades now.
I don't think I'd heard a live version of it before, but man. That solo sent some serious shivers down the spine.

While the rough mileage is painfully obvious in his appearance, there's absolutely nothing wrong with either his singing or playing here. Wow.
