@petergleick And they should be. Whether they like it or not, Zionism has blasted the propaganda with full volume that this is what Judaism is about.

Thanks to Zionism, an entire generation is growing up associating Judaism with the systematic murder of families by automated AI tools and intentional starving of children.

@gimulnautti @petergleick Zionism is the belief that Jews — probably the most hated group for many centuries— should have a safe homeland where our ancestors lived. You are conflating that with the actions of a corrupt and violent Israeli government. Most Israelis and diaspora Jews hate what Netanyahu is doing in our names and want peaceful coexistence with the Palestinians.

I know the difference, I do not conflate.

But zionist messaging is all about conflating judaism and Israeli nationalism. And this is what anyone without deeper knowledge into the topic hears.

But I don't understand his reasoning. I just stated what's actually going on.
For me antisemitism is anti-jews. And anti-Israel is not antisemitism.
