Breakers!

"Goodbye" - The Sundays - could've heard some more of that.

"Money love" - Neneh Cherry - could've heard some more of that.

"Sentinel" - Mike Oldfield.

"Drive" - R.E.M. - could've heard some more of that.

"It's my life" - Dr Alban

A high point of MTV Eurodance: a hook simple enough to transcend language boundaries, a rap good enough to make sense to native speakers.

And shown with calm poise: watch how the camera moves are graceful and languid.

"Iron lion zion" - Bob Marley & the Wailers

A vocal demo laid down in the late 1970s, now finished off to promote his "Songs of Freedom" box set.

Well worth the effort.

"I'm gonna get you" - Bizzare Inc ft Angie Brown

C'mon, we all loved this for the soul vocals, and for the euphoric backing track. Concentrate on the singer, let us ignore the dancing goon and the dullards on the keyboard.

"Roadhouse medley" - Status Quo

The Quo had headlined Radio 1's 25th birthday party at Sutton Park the previous weekend.

It doesn't excuse this outbreak of megamixymatosis, though as it only affects songs the Quo had previously performed, the disease is probably treatable.

So we had fifteen seconds of The Sundays, and a whole concert by Status Quo?

Naughty #TOTP.

"Ebeneezer Goode" - The Shamen

A certain symmetry about this show, beginning with a crap rapper spoiling a decent dance groove, and ending with this.

Our second Mystery Year was 1992.

If you're looking for a late entry into the #JukeboxFridayNight hashtag, it's #CountryMusic all the way this weekend.

Country stars follow #TOTP on BBC4, and more country tomorrow on BBC2. Sunday is South Asian Music on BBC4.

Whatever you're doing this weekend, have a great one!
