I am sad to hear about the passing of Jane Goodall today.

When I was a "weird" little girl, people like her gave me a form of permission to be obsessed with animals and the environments they lived in, even if the people around me didn't understand it. It was so valuable to have someone out there in the world doing what she did.

A life well lived. What a gift.
