Who thought this was pretty, or acceptable, or anything close to shippable? #liquidglass

@vito

We need a design language that is the exact opposite of #LiquidAss

Something like... #SolidFace???!? ๐Ÿ˜„

  • High contrast
  • very clear indication of clickable/tappable areas
  • no transparency without significant blur and contrast
  • Use outline/shadow fonts when needed for visibility
  • Usability and accessibility over shallow aesthetics.

@rl_dane What angers me the most is that we already had that. I *have* this on my Macs running Sequoia.

My employer's MacBook updated to Tahoe, and for Turing's sake, what a mess that is. It's sad. I never thought I would ever in my life feel this way about software; it even feels pathetic, but the issue is that I use this daily, I work on this environment, so it is a big change, and for the worse. I remember when people was running Aero on Windows, and feeling "safe" on Tiger.

@vito

Even somewhat older MacOS versions are quite a decline in UI design compared to something like Snow Leopard, IMO.

I actually love really old MacOS versions, like pre-Mac OS X. The underlying OS was crazy unstable, but the UI was crazy clean and usable/contrasty.

@rl_dane That's so true. I was looking for a G3 a few days ago. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

But even System 7 on a monochrome is looking better than this mess, imho.

@vito

Absolutely! ๐Ÿ’—

@rl_dane Only if I could add more memory to my Mac Classic without any cursed procedures... ๐Ÿ’”
