Built by our new tech Chloe, this mini-beast sports a Ryzen 9 7900X and a Radeon RX 9070 with 48GB of RAM. Destined to run MS Flight Simulator, this was a killer build packed into an NZXT H3 Flow. Fun fact: the fans have to be removed from the front to get the GPU in and out! 😳
@computercellar The GPU is visibly sagging already. Someone should really make an adjustable support or something that you can add to the front of it.
@randrews it’s a very heavy GPU! Included sag bracket doesn’t fit, but we’re working up something to give it a little lift on the corner.
@computercellar It's weird to me that computer cases are laid out the way they are. The tower-case idea made sense up until GPUs got as heavy as they did, now I think a traditional horizontal case makes more sense but no one makes one.
@randrews Our biggest annoyance so far with this build was the recent discovery that the 48GB, 7000MT/s kit that was on the verified compatibility list absolutely won't boot with XMP enabled. So we're changing tack a bit and ordering a 64GB, 6000MT/s kit. Thought we were gonna have this one done today :(
@computercellar Where did you get an RX9070 with that much vRAM?
@Vaneshi yeah so as soon as we posted that I realized the phrasing was bad. The SYSTEM has 48 (actually 64 now) GB of DRAM. The 9070 has 16GB of VRAM.
@computercellar Ahh. Thought it might of been one of those reworked ones you find in China, fair enough.
