Vivaldi browser settings:

I changed a setting in Vivaldi months ago where "Developer Tools → Inspect" shows up in the root context menu when right-clicking on a page instead of being hidden in a secondary level.

For some reason, that setting has been reset in a recent update, and it's my biggest gripe with the browser so far (not bad).

Who remembers which setting you need to change to fix this again?

It's somewhere under "Settings → Appearance → Menu Customization", but there are so many options in the dropdown and I cannot be assed to try them all.

Praise be, thanks to a rubber duck moment, I suddenly remembered I had stored a link to the answer in my Obsidian notes.

I ought to turn this into an article or something.

(For those blocking Fosstodon: you have to deselect "As subfolder" for each item under the "Web page" section under Menu customization.)

@[email protected] @[email protected] Thank you! An easier developer setup was something I was missing. I updated all the web page menus (under Appearance) so as not to show the developer tools as a sub-folder in two profiles. I was initially overwhelmed by the settings, so it was good to have an old forum post explaining this.

🙏 Thank you! I am currently making the switch and had the same issue of being too confused by the settings UI to know how to fix this.
