We’re pleased to announce the arrival of Iconfactory Tapestry on iOS 26 with stunning support for Liquid Glass, visual improvements up and down the timeline, and a new native app for macOS.  Tapestry looks great in Liquid Glass Tapestry’s user interface has been completely overhauled for iOS 26 and Liquid Glass and the results are […]

@Iconfactory Ohhh, macOS support! 😍
@sindarina Yes, but keep in mind it’s a work in progress. 😉
@Iconfactory NO! Must be PERFECT right away, or I am going to be VERY disappointed and trash it on socials! 😜
@Iconfactory i like the use of the old school finder icon instead of one of the new ones 😂
@Iconfactory Loving the update! I’m curious though, what has been the thought process behind the new bottom toolbar? I’d expected it to look a bit more like it does in other Liquid Glass apps; tabbar to the left, Sesrch button to the right which expands when clicked.
@JeroenSchaper That doesn’t work in Tapestry because these aren’t standard tab controls. Tap and hold on a quicklink and you navigate a menu of choices on each. This navbar is unique in iOS 26.
@Iconfactory Ah that explains it. Thought it would’ve looked nicer and more consistent. But I see why it is the way it is now!
@Iconfactory One more thing I’ve noticed, the outer buttons at the bottom aren’t lined out with the ones at the top. The ones at the bottom are closer to the edge.
@JeroenSchaper Yep, iOS 26 has tons of problems. It’s deciding where to place these and things change based on your font size settings, window mode and more. One of the downsides of using standard control in Swift UI unfortunately
@Iconfactory ah, bummer! Hopefully one of the updates will correct it 👍🏻
@Iconfactory Very happy to see this pop up today and it's already in great shape!
2 MacOS requests:
- Set a different “Open In". While the Bluesky app is fine for iPhone, not so good on Mac.
- Disable swipes, I’m always starting a left or right swipe with the mac trackpad.
@mjanke both of these are on the list to look at in the future for the Mac.

@Iconfactory It looks great on my iPhone running iOS 26! However, my 6th Gen iPad is limited to iPadOS 17.x. No update is showing there for Tapestry, which is giving me problems saying “The Bluesky connector is not compatible with this version of the app. Please upgrade to the latest version of Tapestry on all devices.”

Same error for the Mastodon connector. Am I just out of luck running on an older device? Or will this eventually be fixed? I’d hate to move to a different app.

@tcatsuko Tapestry’s minimum system requirement for the iPhone is 17.4 so can you update to that?
@Iconfactory I’m running iPadOS 17.7.10, so in theory I should be fine. But Tapestry is at 1.2.2 (191), and it’s not showing an update in the App Store. I’ll try deleting and redownloading it to see if that helps to get the new update.
@Iconfactory Update: deleting the app and reinstalling indeed pulls down 1.3. Problem resolved!
@Iconfactory Congratulations on a great release! I noticed that the mark button is now even further from easy reach in the detail view, being placed on top. Am I the only one who extensively uses it to keep things apart for later? I think having it more accessible would greatly improve the experience. Perhaps it could be moved to the bottom bar in the item list or as the secondary slide action.
@Iconfactory I think there is enough space here… maybe I should try vibe coding a Tapestry plugin for RSS to add just a mark button… #TapestryApp
@klauslanza it’s there under the … menu on an item so it’s really a single tap away on every post. We hate to add an icon that’s redundant on every single item for something that’s unused most of the time. Get what you’re saying about the detail view though. Also swipe actions will be customizable at some point so that should help.
@Iconfactory Great news! Swipe customisation would fix it in the best way, so I’ll wait for an hopeful solution. By the way, do you think a custom connector for RSS could add a button to mark items? I see we can add buttons to items, but are the current available APIs able to manipulate marked items? I could resolve it this way.
@klauslanza That’s a question for @chockenberry and @bigzaphod im afraid.
@Iconfactory @klauslanza @chockenberry a connector can add its own actions (like how Mastodon has a bookmark button) that appear on the left, but they cannot change the layout of builtin action buttons like the mark option and they can't add a button that triggers the built-in mark function, either.
@bigzaphod @Iconfactory @chockenberry I understand now, thanks for the clarification! I hope this change can be made in future API versions. I think manipulating the item’s local state could be useful in various scenarios.
@Iconfactory Tapestry has transformed reading on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It may be my most used app when I’m not working. Which is to say, my most used app.
@infobhan That’s great! Appreciate the kind words and the support! If you have time to leave Tapestry a rating or review in the App Store please consider it. Every little bit helps. Thank you.
