It is extremely disappointing to have now seen TWO prominent #ruby community members that I admire choose to take the low road and punch down rather than stand in solidarity to hold Ruby Central accountable and find justice for the hostile takeover of Ruby Gems.

This is an escalation of conflict. Is this really the direction you want to go?

@armahillo I'm seeing a lot of "stop with the drama - just build stuff" then explicitly siding with Ruby Central. The duplicity among a very comfortable and libertarian elite is obvious.

@shanecav I think we would love to just build stuff.

Ruby Central is free to push this to resolution by collaborating with the community.

If someone forged the pink slip on your car and claimed ownership of it, they don't get to also demand that you don't complain about this.

@armahillo Right. RC has created an unstable situation. Without transparent and independent governance, this basically privatizes a critical component of Ruby infrastructure. It's now easier to hide wrongdoing.

@shanecav

I've not even really thought too deeply about the long-term ramifications of this. I am bothered that there has not been more people telling Ruby Central that their actions are unacceptable.

I was just talking with my director about wanting to go to RubyConf or some other industry conference next year -- I'm not sure what I will do now. I can't in good conscience support this org while this lingers unresolved.
