@NanoRaptor okay but in an ideal world, installing a gpu into a laptop would be as easy as slotting something into a pcmcia slot
@psilocervine @NanoRaptor I suppose a big part of the challenge would be standardizing a card that integrates with the laptop's thermal system to disipate the heat from the GPU.

@bob_zim MXM is (was?) great tech. similar to LPCAMM2 it will probably not find its way into mass produced consumer devices, which is a shame...
@iwoakura Apple used MXM in iMacs from 2006 through 2011, which were definitely mass-produced. Some Alienware laptops use it (they certainly have the space), and some small form factor desktop designs like the HP Z2 Mini use it (or used it in the past).
