Got paged early this morning for an issue. A service was taking 20+ seconds to reply to client requests.
After *two and a half hours*, I finally had all the IP numbers involved.
• The traffic from the client arrives over the Internet.
• It goes through a firewall which NATs it to a set of load balancers.
• The load balancer then goes through a second firewall (no NAT) to a second set of load balancers.
• This second load balancer goes back through the second firewall, through a third firewall, to a third set of load balancers.
• The third load balancer goes through the third firewall again to the web server.

We know Elon Musk worked in the US in a violation of his visa, and committed fraud related to this on his application for citizenship. That should definitely be grounds for revoking any clearance he holds, and barring him and companies he controls from government contracts in the future. Maybe even prison.
Still, Musk shouldn’t be deported from the US. He got his citizenship, and it shouldn’t be possible for a government to take that away, only for a citizen to renounce it.
Fifth episode of #Murderbot is much more normal. Great pacing, and more Gurathin is always a plus.
Unfortunately, we’re back to several text overlays being difficult to read on the background. At least the best one is nicely readable.
