New race thread for Sunday. Both cars are turning laps.

Time for some car spotting from the tower.

Spank brought a DAF which is so far into the "fastest lap under full course caution" zone that it may be able to do hot laps all the time because it's more of a chicane than a racecar. Glorious.

Ford vs Chevy that you didn't know you needed: the Chotus about to overtake Super Troops' Mercury

Ford vs Chevy you didn't know you needed 2: there's some excellent automotive shit posting at this race. Besides the DAF, there's an Aerostar and a Bolt. I got to see them drag race down the straight, and the Bolt sailed past the Aerostar.

Do Fords ever pass GM powered cars in my posts? I knew I'd get the opportunity for getting both of my team's cars in frame because we spotted them close to each other on riverside with the MG in the lead. So I guess, besides the DAF the rest of the thread is Ford vs GM.
I didn't get a picture, but we just bolted the rear shock back on. It was dragging on the ground. MG is going back out now.

surprised_george_bush.png the rear shock broke a second time.

We don't have a spare, and the problem looks like it's with the mount...so...yank it and send it. The MG is out on the track with three shocks. It is solid rear axle, so it's like being down just one kidney, right?

Coda: I got the MG for the last hour. Ted described is as being like driving a Jeep...and that felt pretty accurate. There was lots of body roll and bouncing. Which adds up to inconsistent traction. Between the shock and the overheating issues, I just put it in 4th and did what I could. I was still able to pass some cars out there. Including the Aerostar. It's always fun to take the checker.

What a great weekend.
