@DocBohn @golgaloth strong chance that most professors that do this have undiagnosed ADHD

@gsuberland @DocBohn @golgaloth now I am suddenly realising that my favourite teacher was like that because he definitely had adhd

gave no shits about handwriting. doing no homework was fine, if it was clear you understood or were trying to. Would answer any question about any subject as best he could. Loved a big ol conversation about whatever the class's thoughts were on the subject. Head of two departments and still wanted to do more. Never once raised his voice but would get super enthused

@gsuberland @DocBohn @golgaloth I refused a gcse exam in protest and when they tried to ambush me with it after I finished another exam, I refused to take it and just sat there.

He was invigilating, and confused. I explained I was protesting and he just said "Right", and gave me this smirk. Classic "I can't SAY I approve of this but we both know I do"

my man got a job doing what he loved and he was too damn good at it for anyone to stop him doing it the way that worked. A hero

@gsuberland @DocBohn @golgaloth Stop labelling people! Getting sidetracked sometimes is not a disease. It is a personality trait. I'm lucky that the four-letter moniker did not exist when I was a kid. I would have been labelled for good.
@Ea5iyl @DocBohn @golgaloth I'm not labelling anyone. I have ADHD and am glad to have been diagnosed. It helped me manage it.
@gsuberland @DocBohn @golgaloth I'm glad it worked for you. I have a child psychiatrist in my family and she tells me horror stories in which children are labelled and medicated in ways that she has to disentangle.
@Ea5iyl @gsuberland @DocBohn @golgaloth if the 4 letter label didn't exist for me, I would've simply gotten different labels like "deadbeat" or "drug addict" or "completely useless" or "fucking dead."
It's not like we had an option to just be unlabeled. If you've gone your whole life without any sort of ableist label on you that's at least as bad as "ADHD", I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have labeled you with "ADHD" either. It took *a lot* for me to get that "label"
@gsuberland @DocBohn @golgaloth hey hey, it could be diagnosed, we don't know! For all we know they're like me (on Adderall and now their ADHD is mild but wow is it still there)
[For the record I'm bantering, not correcting/arguing, we're all just speculating here]
