Whether one agrees with Comey's politics is no more relevant right now than whether one likes Kimmel's jokes. This isn't about substance to Trump. He's going after them as trophies, as a demonstration that if he can take them down, the rest of us better not cross him.

The difference is that Comey refuses to acknowledge that, and will keep pretending that all the normal rules still apply.

Noble tragic ending for him, sure, but the a-hole will leave *us* with a worse authoritarian society that he refused to get his hands dirty fighting.

@jztusk I get that you don’t like Comey, but I fail to see how his “pretending that the normal rules apply” is either supported by facts or will leave us worse off.

He’s the victim of a terrible abuse of power, whether you like him or not.

I don't really dislike him - he really does seem like an ethical, tragic character. He is just inadequate for the times that he has found himself in.
