@i0null illumos, LibreOffice, and Loops
@judahhansen i've not heard of loops. what is that?

@i0null @judahhansen

Project Open Loop, or simply Open Loop.

Open Loop was a social software and collaboration platform developed by Sun Microsystems. The goal was to create an open-source competitor to products like Microsoft SharePoint and IBM Lotus Connections.

Sun Microsystems was acquired by Oracle in 2010. After the acquisition, Oracle discontinued many of Sun's open-source projects, and Open Loop was one of the casualties.

@tuban_muzuru @i0null I'm actually referring to the Fediverse Loops in this case
@i0null Perhaps referring to the, soon to be federated, Loops app. An alternative to the corporate owned TikTok. As the other things mention appear to be alternatives to the oracled software.

Loops by Pixelfed

Loops, explore and share short videos on the fediverse. Available soon!

@fluffgar anyone who thinks people will switch to this has not paid attention. It's like people thinking users would switch from Windows 7 to Linux (they picked W10) or from X to Mastodon (they picked Blsky).

But I guess YouTube shorts will explode...

It's a fediverse (intended, AP support is on the way) tiktok replacement that's in beta. Made by the pixelfed guy.
