iām so old, i remember when going on the internet made you smarter.
bit101@rstevens I remember actually having the thought that now that everyone in the world could instantly chat with anyone else anywhere else in the world, there couldn't possibly be anymore war. We'd all just see that we were more alike than different, and start to get along and resent the leaders who were pushing us into conflicts.
Cali Oakwood@bit101 If there was one thing I disliked about the 90s, it was the naivete that came about from the end of the Cold War, and how bitterly it juxtaposes with the post-9/11 world. It's hard to keep these same hopes about technology when unscrupulous groups with political leverage have found ways to achieve the opposite.
