Michał Zając#Ruby would there be any interested in setting up an alternative to RubyGems.org?
I am considering setting up one but I imagine it would need more than one person to run the operation
Jared Norman@quintasan There are videos online about the operational costs of RubyGems and they are extraordinary. Another gem host is not really a helpful solution to this whole situation.
@jardo So you say but it appears to me that quite a few people have quit over this and Ruby Central doesn't seem to be handling this in a responsible manner.
I do understand the costs to be tremendous but I imagine most of it comes from using AWS. I won't say this will solve everything but it's clear to me that an alternative is needed here.
