I'm trying to decide who to read next. I've got a Joshua Whitehead novel for some Indigiqueer representation. I've also recently acquired some Andrea Gibson poetry, Charlie Jane Anders new book, and an older Alice Hoffman novel.

Choices, choices. Whatcha reading these days? And are you having any concentration issues?

@kimlockhartga I'm reading The Morning Star by Knausgaard, and I really like it, although it had mixed reviews. It's absorbing, not very difficult, it holds my attention. I needed a break from Middlemarch, the language is complicated sometimes, and I'm too easily distracted from it.
@sunumbral The Morning Star sounds like something I'd like for sure. Thank you.

@kimlockhartga I've been reading a lot of great translated literary fiction this year. There are so many gems in that genre with fewer than 200 pages, so they still feel easy to pick up when life is overwhelming.

Fortunately no serious concentration issues currently, but in periods when (chronic) pain makes it more difficult, I usually read more graphic novels or memoirs with a more casual tone.

@kimlockhartga @bookstodon Light novels from one season animes I liked. They're really breezy and don't usually have a lot of thought necessary to follow. 😄

I am peeved I can't ebookthe rest of Wrong Way to use Healing Magic because of company political BS.

Finished up Villainess L99, and now working through Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life.

I have legit books @ursulav Hemlock and Silver and @scalzi The Shattering Peace in my Break Glass in Case of Emergency pile, though.

@hendric @bookstodon @ursulav @scalzi I love the idea of an emergency book pile!

I'm reading Rebecca Roanhorse's Trilogy "Between Earth and Sky" and I find it very captivating. No issues with concentration there. I even forget to worry for a while ;-)
