I did something like this in 2016 before the election. It was pretty fun, mostly because it wasn't so serious back then. It was pretty fun (although things get really awkward when you kind of want to get a little flirty with someone but are dressed as a certified creep), but I wouldn't do it again, not with what's happened in the meantime.
