We love it when you share your #DeGoogle journey with us  👏 😎

Looking forward to your screen and favorite apps in the comments.

@Tutanota The Google apps I still keep are for team tasks coordinated above me.
@carturo222 Storygraph is a great alternative to Amazon-owned Goodreads
El dominio de Google en las búsquedas disminuye, ¡por primera vez en la historia! | Tuta

La cuota de mercado de Google en las búsquedas está por debajo del 90%, ¿señal de que su dominio está llegando a su fin?

Tuta
@Tutanota
No google, longer battery life
@faradundamarti @Tutanota what is your translate app?

@faradundamarti hmm I immediately got an error

" The selected translation engine doesn't seem to work. Please select a different one in the settings. (HTTP 400)"

@Tutanota I'm on my way to de-google my phone. Unfortunately, in my work still is necessary to use some meta, Google or Microsoft apps.
@ivan @Tutanota You got Xiaomi? Nuh uh it’s worse than Google tracking.
@hxvy0 @Tutanota sí, mucho bloatware. Es una opción demasiado barata, tiene ese punto en contra. Después de quitar las apps preinstaladas, el teléfono dejó de sobre calentarse.
@ivan @Tutanota Install LineageOS on it.
@hxvy0 @Tutanota lo había considerado, pero creo que no es compatible con este modelo en particular y tampoco puedo hacerlo del todo, hay trabajos donde todavía se necesitan servicios de Google, meta o Microsoft.
@ivan @Tutanota U can use google, meta and microsoft services on lineageos. Google services are optional and u can install all android apps (because its android)
@hxvy0 @Tutanota como te dije antes, según el listado del SO no es compatible con el modelo de teléfono que tengo, quizá después pueda hacerlo.
@Tutanota remove that Google Search then!😄

@Tutanota I would switch to Tuta calendar, but there are some things I can't stand, so I will keep Nextcloud for that one

And if I knew my banking apps would work on /e/OS I would switch to that on my fairphone

@FynnND @Tutanota

Joplin is so good all markdown files and you just file sync for mobile access, the most privacy of a notes app.

@YourShadowDani @Tutanota the funny thing is I heard the opposite on other places, where they said it asks for GPS on phone. Good thing is I only use it on PC and Laptop, not on my phone

But yeah it is amazing. Might need to find a way to connect to my nextcloud outside my local network

@Tutanota Cute!

- Duoqin F21 Pro.
- dumbdroid.eu custom android-os
- Fossify for base apps like gallery, messages, file browser
- No browser and no app store, only sideloaded apps
- No Google Service Framework or any variants of it
- folder launcher

@jalict Love this! And love the phone! 😍
@Tutanota Love the service! ;)
@Tutanota Ok...how can that be degoogled?...it has google search on the bottom of the screen. Also, are there any practical options for degoogled phones in the U.S. Fairphone seems to be, but network options appear limited and how financially stable is the company
@Nobodyknows789 I suppose by "practical" you mean you buy and use out of the box. Try searching for Volla, iodé, Jolla, Murena or maybe Brax phones. Not sure which of them ship to US though.
@Tutanota
@j4n3z @Tutanota Thanks! It appears that the U.S. doesn't like the idea of choice in operating systems (I wonder why)...it's frustrating. I disable everything google that I can, but you just can't get rid it! Have a good one!

@Tutanota

No screenshot, but I do have the following Google alternatives:

- email: Thunderbird & FairEmail for general accounts, Proton (for now) and Tuta for those accounts, Outlook for work emails only
- calendar: Outlook, Tuta, and Proton
- music: VLC, Musicolet
- privacy: Aegis Authenticator
- messaging: Element, need an easy alternative to Google Messages though... not many friends or family use Signal
- podcasts: AntennaPod
- browsing: Firefox, Waterfox, Vivaldi
- notes: Joplin
- maps: CoMaps
- storage: Proton Drive (eagerly awaiting an option from Tuta!)
- keyboard: HeliBoard

@Tutanota

Here are my favourites!
@papa Love this! Thanks for choosing Tuta Mail and Tuta Calendar. 😎
@Tutanota Simple and boring... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Tutanota Here's how my GrapheneOS looks 😊
@Tutanota i can not share a screenshot of my homescreen as a bad actor might take advantage of it.
@Tutanota well, my phone's incompatible and I can't install lineages and others, but I'll remove almost everything from google. I still have little details left, but I'm gradually going to solve it.
@iguana09863 Awesome! It's a race not a sprint 😎
@Tutanota and here are the apps I use and have installed.
@Tutanota patiently waiting for Organic Maps to allow implementation of traffic info. Then I'd be ready to ditch Aurora Store and be 100% FOSS
@Tutanota Which calendar app is shown in the picture?
@janix Hey! This is the Tuta Calendar the the widget :)
@Tutanota The calendar icon with orange background?
@janix @Tutanota
i think that it is simple calendar (witch is no longer foss but check out fossify calendar it is the fork of it when it was FOSS)
