By this I explicitly mean using LLMs to generate texts. (I am well aware of the scientific use of transformer models in classification / ranking tasks and do not question those, but that is not the mode of operation people usually mean when talking about LLMs.)

@sereeena well said. The future they're trying to build for us is AI generated content re-summarised by AI and nobody really has a conversation any more.

Sure people generate whole blog posts or corporate-speak emails or LinkedIn posts with GenAI. But that just proves that it didn't need to be an essay and could have been a more tersely organised message or set of bullet points.
