Today, justice was served in Brazil. A former president who systematically disregarded democratic principles was convicted for his failed coup attempt, and along with him, his sect of brainless military officers were sentenced to nearly 30 years in prison. Not under house arrest. In jail.

Something unprecedented in the last 150 years: military coup plotters who conspired against democracy in the country were not able to get away with it, this time.

May the southern winds bring some hope.
