Swear to god, this is so much easier than you think, and learning it was like lightbulb going off for me specifically.
Figuring out how the chains go there, that gearshifts/brakes are just cords with clamps and pliers and wrenches...
It was kinda awesome! And a hammer fixes most of the issues!
Warning: Don't do this on like, super expensive racing bikes. But it will work for most others!

@brent_bartlett @LinuxAndYarn @dannotdaniel My bike is basically fine, I was mostly posting because of how awesome it would be to live in a place where teenagers know how to fix bikes. I live in Japan and do not have a community of bike teenagers nearby. Most people ride horrible commuter bikes called "mama chari" until they literally fall apart.
