JamesWNeal@w7voa Reading the piece, it seems it wasn't the Q that prompted his dismissal, but the fact he texted it to the congressperson just 23 minutes after the shooting. “I cannot be the person I am, a critic of extremism on both the left and right, if those who work with me lack the basic empathy in horrific situations,” Schorsch wrote on X. “Perhaps other outlets can go immediately to the political ramifications of a tragedy like the shooting of a cultural leader, but that is not what I am about.”

Ah yes, the Period of Mourning, during which difficult questions may not be asked of politicians. It lasts from the time of incident until the question can be dismissed for referring to irrelevant ancient history instead 🙄
Randy Fine didn't lose a family member FFS, and nothing justifies his response nor the punishment of the journalist. It's the fascist silencing of someone who isn't kissing ass to the tyrants' satisfaction.
@me_valentijn @w7voa I'm not suggesting his firing was justified, just making it clear that the justification given had nothing to do with the question asked, just the timing of it.

The fact that he never answered the question says it was 100% about the question. If it were just about the timing he would have answered after the appropriate mourning period had passed.
