My install instructions for KDE 6 Wayland on FreeBSD have been updated.

First of all I changed the base to KDE and KDE base apps, instead of just a very minimal install. This follows the recommended install by KDE more closely.

Second: the additional browser of choice (with Librewolf in the overall setup already) has been changed to Vivaldi and I have included a how-to-update the script and make Vivaldi run under FreeBSD.

Which you can apply anywhere on FreeBSD of course ;-)

Thanks to all for the positive feedback!

@thesaigoneer wait what do you MEAN FreeBSD has Wayland?

@doq
It certainly has ;-) Let me put it this way: KDE is late to the party ☺️
There is a very active 'group' that's bringing the latest and greatest of window managers to FreeBSD. Like niri, hyprland, river, dwl, you name it. A hidden gem!

Interesting! While Vivaldi is cool, I wouldnt trust a proprietary Chromium-based browser, but nice that this works (now?)

@Rhababerbarbar Yes, my toot wasn't clear on that and I have edited it: Vivaldi is additional, since Librewolf is already in my 'base-install'. Thanks πŸ‘πŸ»

@thesaigoneer great job!

But, #kde should remove messages like this one:
kf.kio.gui: Failed to determine systemd version, falling back to extremely legacy forking mode.

Not everyone is running systemd.
