use this new fancy thing
new fancy thing requires you to use it for everything
i’m not using that
get told over and over by dozens of people to use it
start getting really annoyed when people suggest it and it doesn’t even solve your problems

the new fancy thing is easily nix or containers

containers are at least less bad because i can use it for some things and not others

@niko nix seems like if someone had a nightmare about their system administration job and then went "why don't I make that thing from the nightmare into a real thing"

@niko like, what problem does nix solve? That your packge management solution makes too much sense?

@koopa512 For me, it lets me manage all my packages, and my dotfiles, and my systemd services in a single git repo while allowing me to temporarily use a tool without installing it permanently.
