It’s really hard not to default to using ChatGPT when Google results suck so fucking hard these days. It’s just not returning results relevant for the query.

I typed “GeometryReader macOS stops clicks” and the first result is a Stack Overflow question about GeometryReader affecting a ScrollView from scrolling to the right position.

ChatGPT at least feels like it’s understanding my query and gives some suggestions to fix it.

What happened to Google for it to get this bad? It’s crazy.

I’m sure they’re panicking internally and quite rightly. To go from being THE search engine, where searching is not called “searching” but called “googling” to this catastrophe of an experience.

Maybe focusing the entire experience around intrusive ads instead of serving great results wasn’t such a good idea but who am I to say, I’m just a data source.
