'AI slop': Emily Portman and musicians on the mystery of fraudsters releasing songs in their name

Artists on the mystery of being targeted by fraudsters releasing "AI slop" songs in their name.

@codinghorror I am shocked that streaming platforms don't seem to do any validation on music submissions. This problem of fake songs and albums is rampant on Spotify and Tidal. And they don't even offer a report button.
@Gargron This is wanted behaviour tho.
You stil have much to learn about how businesses operate.

(Similar to how #google magically allows the worst of spam comments and weirdly filters out, even #shadowban s useful comments.)

Maybe the only ""shocking"" thing is using a closed source, locked-down, lame excuse of a #music "#streaming" service

Imagine actually buying* music and using an #Audioplayer , #Shoutcast or #Poweramp (sorry iOS ppl) to play music locally perhaps even.

Unimaginable....
