did you know that podcasts uploaded to spotify are spotify-exclusive by default and don't have an RSS feed?
pretty sure most people don't know that, as i'm now trying to get one podcast that says they're "available on all podcast platforms" to realise they're actually not.

spotify is unbelievably harmful to the podcast ecosystem.
also it's not that good of a podcast app. you should ditch it.

@Yuvalne any alternative recs?
@bottled_o_taki i'm a huge fan of #AntennaPod @AntennaPod , does absolutely everything i need and offers stuff i didn't know i needed.
@Yuvalne @[email protected] now random follow up...yk any music apps for andorid that can do AndroidAuto?

@Yuvalne
I happily pay for libsyn to avoid the "free" game that Spotify is playing. Side Friction is available on Spotify but only as an export... I make it a point to make sure the RSS feed URL is public.

@Yuvalne also as a nerd for RSS, make sure your podcast feed is correct! That means itunes tags and/or podcast 2.0 tags as well as enclosures!

@Yuvalne
And,
I highly recommend using AntennaPod as a podcatcher & player. 🤓

Podverse is also great and already has podcasting 2.0 features which are good for supporting the hosts/networks!

@Yuvalne Yes, rss is disabled by default. Also, when you host your own podcast on your own sollution and register it in spotify, thei download every episode from your rss feed. When you reupload the file on your hosting, thei don't care.
@Yuvalne Sounds like Kindle for podcasts. Is the same true for Apple/Google podcasts?
