New Mexico has issued a public health order that removes federal restrictions to COVID-19 vaccine access so that pharmacies in New Mexico can vaccinate people of all ages and risk profiles. Every state needs to do this!
State health department issues COVID-19 vaccine health order

@luckytran A small part of me wonders whether overturning these laws was part of RFK’s plans, so now more quacks and charlatans can offer crap vaccines in the states that used to protect their citizens by relying on the fact the CDC used to protect them.

@LinuxAndYarn @luckytran

I am sure that’s the plan. Degrade trust in everything.

@LinuxAndYarn @luckytran Kennedy rejects all vaccines. He believes that diet and exercise can protect against all kinds of disease, and he sees no difference between individual health and public health. His HHS team includes mainly health influencers and unorthodox medical personnel. If he promotes anything, it’ll probably be gym memberships and dietary supplements, not new vaccines.
@etikemik @LinuxAndYarn @luckytran
He's a hypocrite. He didn't reject vaccines for himself and his family. He has publicly stated that he and his children are vaccinated.
Kennedy's MAHA disciples need to reflect on that.
@luckytran If I cannot self-certify as something to get the covid vaccine locally, another trip to New Mexico might be in order.
@LukefromDC @luckytran You can say that you used to be a smoker when you were a minor. Former tobacco use qualifies.

@nonlinear @luckytran We now have a new problem: CVS and possibly Walgreens are refusing to sell the vaccine without a prescription from a doctor in Arizona, FL, and all the rest of the states that put state restrictions on vaccine distribution. DC too as "who run bartertown" is not yet known there. Likely other providers will follow suit fearing legal harassment.

I do not trust ANY random doctor in fashy Christian states so I may have to travel at least as far as Alabama (no state laws on vaccine distribution) and possibly all the way to New Mexico if I can't get it from one of the specialist LGBTQ clinics.

Seems like getting a covid shot in FL is getting to be rather like getting an abortion in Florida. They can take that "I don't need to vaccines 'cause I got the lord" shit and shove it up their ass until they puke it back out.

They didn't consider the idea that The Lord gave them the COVID vaccines?

@LukefromDC @nonlinear @luckytran

@wonka @LukefromDC @luckytran If "we're made in the Lord's image", then we're naturally perfect. Anything else is impure. My Dad's a hardcore right wing born-again evangelical, and he now believes that the measles vaccine should be banned and all kids should go to measles parties.
@LukefromDC @luckytran Holy crap. I didn't realize things have gotten that bad.
@nonlinear @luckytran Yes they have, and FL is about as far behind enemy lines as you can get.
@luckytran Yesterday I messaged my governor, Bob Ferguson, asking him to do something so anyone in Washington State who wants the COVID-19 vaccine can get it. Maybe I’ll message him again so I can attach these screenshots.
@luckytran I encourage everyone to contact your governor and sec of health to increase access of covid vaccines as NM is doing. I did and also asked them to form a state coalition for public health as the Northeast is doing but in the West/Midwest. I also asked if the state could buy vaccines in bulk in anticipation of further restrictions and possible eventual banning of the covid vaccine. The CDC can no longer be trusted to provide evidence and science-based guidance. #PublicHealth
@huskify @luckytran I'm living in a red state with a bunch of incompetent in power.
Useless to contact anyone of them, are a bunch of greedy trump puppets.

@luckytran

and republicans are all for state's rights

well, until they aren't

@luckytran

Meanwhile, in America...

@Blort @luckytran ... a state issued a public health order that removes federal restrictions to COVID-19 vaccine access, because new mexico is a US state?
@Blort New Mexico[a] is a state in the Southwestern region of the United States. It is one of the Mountain States of the southern Rocky Mountains, sharing the Four Corners region with Utah, Colorado, and Arizona. It also borders the state of Texas to the east and southeast, Oklahoma to the northeast, and shares an international border with the Mexican states of Chihuahua and Sonora to the south. New Mexico's largest city is Albuquerque, and its state capital is Santa Fe, the oldest state capital in the U.S., founded in 1610 as the government seat of Nuevo México in New Spain. It also has the highest elevation of any state capital, at 6,998 feet (2,133 m).
@luckytran @SunnJax SO glad to hear this news. But I had a feeling NM state government would do the right thing.
@luckytran Every state needs to follow suit as RFK has zero medical background.
@luckytran is the USA the only country in the world experiencing another Covid outbreak?
@peterbrown @luckytran No. In Europe, many countries have wastewater monitoring where you can see the Covid-19 virus content rising. Also in ICU occupancy numbers.
@luckytran Either CVS hasn't read the memo yet, or their system is absolutely *plowed* with appointments, or (most likely) their website is a howling piece of shit, because it won't even schedule me for the flu shot. So unless that changes PDQ, I guess I keep my appointment next weekend in (blecch) Texas.
@luckytran in Canada we wich the federal government could remove the restrictions the province of Alberta has put on COVID AND flu vaccines.

@luckytran

Sort of like State rights? Egad!

@luckytran
The wording of the order makes it unclear to me whether that actually will make the vaccine available to those under 65 who don't fit in any of the at-risk categories.
@brouhaha @luckytran Or if it's available, whether insurance will cover it.
@luckytran In Australia the standard is everyone should get vaccinated annually BUT if you’re in a high risk category you can get vaccinated every 6 months.
@luckytran

🎶 And I'm proud to be a New Mexican, where at least I know I'm free… 🎶
