This is amazing! 🙌🏻

My latest video about the Ukraine war is now approaching 40,000 views. I have never had a video get this far before — and it has only been out for 3 days.

If you want to help me get to 40,000, this is where it is at:

@randahl Unfortunately I'm really struggling to hear you because the insect chirping is (to my hearing) significantly louder than your voice.

Could you please try to improve the signal-to-noise ratio in future videos?

@ggrigi absolutely. And thank you for reporting this. You are not the only one to experience less than optimal sound in this episode.

Can I ask which exact device you are listening on? PC with speakers, Android phone? Ipad? Etc.

@randahl Notebook with over-ear headphones. I suspect if it was a worse clarity system I wouldn't have noticed it so much.

I tend to find crinkly things quite overpowering which probably made it worse.

@ggrigi we are all different. That is what makes testing this really difficult.

Can I ask which headphones?

@randahl Sure, thanks for engaging.

Bose QC35 over Bluetooth. I think using AAC codec. And this would be the 4'th set of pads on them.

They are reasonably clear, but I mostly use them because they have excellent noise cancelling and are comfortable.

I was wondering on how to clean audio for talking videos, but as an amateur I can only think of either near-field microphones (which might be expensive) or post-processing (which might be time consuming).

I'm probably overthinking it.

@ggrigi that is interesting, because among my tests, I listened with a laptop and a pair of beyerdynamic DT 1770 over-head headphones, and with those the crickets where not that loud.

It could be that the QC35 are a tad brighter.

I use the 1770, because they have a reasonably flat frequency response, but of course no tool is perfect.

@randahl Very possible.

Maybe think of it as a fatigue issue? My audio processor overheated and fed my brain bad signals 😅
