I really can't emphasize strongly enough how much I detest AI-generated images. I get physical discomfort having it shoved into my face *everywhere*. Even people here in the #FediVerse post #AIslop or use AI generated profile pictures. And all the non-human voiceovers on #YouTube 🤢

It used to be fun searching for a topic you're interested in. Now everything you find is more and more just generated slop and I hate it. 😔

@nobodyinperson

One nit I must pick: robot voices have been a thing for 75 years. They are not part of what is now called AI and will most likely stay around even if AI disappears.

@argv_minus_one Oh nothing against #espeak or #BlaBlaMaker or even #MicrosoftSam, those are super fun. But they are also so terrible, that you hear they have been made procedurally. What I was referring to is the voiceovers on many YouTube videos that you initially don't even recognize as being generated, only when they stumble on a certain word they pronounce extremely weirdly.

@nobodyinperson

Oh, those? Besides the mispronunciations, their cadence is off. They're still pretty obviously not human.

@argv_minus_one Yeah by now I also recognize them pretty instantly. But when they began to plop up, it always took me a while to wake up 🙃
@nobodyinperson @argv_minus_one this person does not exist has been around for many years and people still don't recognize it easily. I recently made a post about it: https://toot.io/@hisold/115090545149867234

Attached: 1 image How to detect images from https://thispersondoesnotexist.com/ I realized that people still can't recognize #Ai generated faces from thispersondoesnotexist. The key is to look at the eyes and nose. They are always in the same position relative to the image. It doesn't matter if the face is turned or looking straight ahead. Altough there are betters models to generate faces, #thispersondoesnotexist is just a classic and I still see those faces on a regular basis.
