‘Russia is targeting us deliberately’: how attacks on maternity hospitals fuelled a birth-rate crisis in Ukraine - Ukraine - kbin.earth

Women have been left fearful of childbirth after more than 80 attacks on maternity units since the invasion, leading to the world’s lowest birth rate and the highest mortality rate

Jesus Putin, kidnap the already-born kids and prevent new ones from being born, eh? What a shitpump

his primary war aim is to eliminate the notion that there ever was a Ukrainian people. if you take this into account, the things you’d expect him to do are:

  • attack Ukrainian cultural centers
  • kidnap and reeducate children
  • enact mass killing in controlled territories

and guess what. he’s doing that. these are acts of genocide. he wants to erase the Ukrainian people and control the narrative, claiming there never was a Ukrainian people. the goal is less about territorial control and more about wiping a story out from the chorus of histories of the world.

Sounds like a war criminal
keep in mind that while doing these things might make you sound like a war criminal, it also makes you a war criminal

So, genocide

Just like in Palestine

yes. and the Congo, Sudan, Gobi desert, and Latin America
Don’t forget the Tartars from Crimea! Russia is doing a re-run genocide, they were there already, a century ago, to commit genocide. Oh we don’t like these folks? Genocide. Apparently it’s classic Russian playbook.
it’s what domination cultures do
Not to detract from the horribleness of this, but in case anyone else is wondering how Ukraine had/has the world's highest mortality rate with the Gaza genocide unfolding, the latter isn't counted because America doesn't recognize Palestine.

Not to detract from the horribleness of this

Then don’t. Your remark comes across as disrespectful. Don’t put horrible things as if it were an atrocity competition.

I'm not; I was just explaining the background of the "highest mortality rate" thing. I didn't mean to compare the two.
