“Victim protective order” “troubled teen industry” = “unregulated child abuse facilities you can send your child to if you don’t feel like parenting”
With no other info, I think the only advice available is that you should consult a lawyer for their advice. We neither know your legal jurisdiction, nor the timeline between “trying to get an abusive TTI investigated” and “I got a VPO against me”.
The details in-between matter, but ultimately, if you’re subject to any type of restraining order, that will be controlling for whatever actions it prohibits you from doing. And the only way to lift that is to seek a lawyer’s help to challenge it in court.
I can’t afford a lawyer. So it looks like my options are to become an hero.

FoxyFerengiThing is, legal help does exist in many places. Most of it is geared towards afab people experiencing partner abuse though. That’s why people ask for location before giving advice - some places aren’t advanced enough to recognize that abuse is far ranging and widespread

Regardless of whether I deserved it it already happened. There’s help for AFAB people who are cis, the rest of us are shit out of luck. I’m more worried about the VPO because that leads to not being able to get a job anymore
I’m afab and nb, and I’ve had free legal help (in my case it wasn’t even a partner, just a roomie). I’m not sitting here trying to deny your situation, but you need to look at it from a different angle to get the help you need.
Give the very bare minimum info when you message a lawyer, because most automatically screen. Bare info is your name and the other party name, plus the type of suit. If they have time for you they will let you know, sometimes they’ll refer you.

AFABs don’t mean shit where I live, we have the highest incarceration right in the states for people defending themselves against abuse.

I have no money. I have negative money. I have been trying to get the bare minimum set up to move out of the country because when student loans come due there’s no fucking way of paying rent. I am trapped here. I have ZERO support of any fucking kind.
I’ve been actively suicidal before and it sucks, so I’m not gonna give you any “permanent solution to a temporary problem” bullshit. But what I learned in my extensive research is that it’s really hard to effectively kill yourself. If anything goes sideways, it’s pretty likely that you not only won’t die but your life will be way way worse. You think you’re unhirable now, just wait until you have a hypoxic brain injury.

Is the protective order to protect you from someone, or is it meant to protect someone from you (unjustly, it would seem you’re saying)?
And I understand it’s frustrating to feel like people aren’t giving you the help you’re looking for. But I think the folks saying “I am not a lawyer, and you need a lawyer” are just trying to be responsible, because especially when it comes the law, being or having a relevant expert is important.
