@fanprompt "sheep" (1/2, got long for one post !)
All through dinner Luo Binghe was giving him a certain look. By now, Shen Qingqiu didn't miss the poorly veiled fondness in his husband's gaze, but it was laced with something else, his fingers lingering on his when he passed Shen Qingqiu his bowl, or brushing his wrist under the table. And, oh, the sighs, like some longing, amorous maiden looking at her lover!
The lover, in question, being Shen Qingqiu, a fact which sent Shen Qingqiu's insides into a flutter and made him feel equally amorous and yearnful himself. It had been a couple of busy weeks for them both and it felt like tonight was the first night in a while that they had time to unwind together.
After dinner, they sat outside enjoying a cup of tea and a cool summer breeze, the moon bright and watchful, stars twinkling, bamboo swishing, its scent permeating the air. Although peaceful and content, Shen Qingqiu was acutely aware of Luo Binghe's fidgeting, as though he were holding something back; and so, at length, he set the tea aside, and turned to him.
"Binghe," he called him softly but his husband's gaze had seldom strayed from him all night. He met Luo Binghe's eyes with a silent question in his own; Luo Binghe parted his lips, eyes flickering between Shen Qingqiu's face and the rest of him, before pressing them shut.
Rather than say anything, Luo Binghe surged forwards. He plopped his head unceremoniously onto Shen Qingqiu's lap and wrapped his arms around his waist, the impact pushing Shen Qingqiu back slightly before he righted himself. On reflex, Shen Qingqiu settled his hand atop his curls, its familiar resting place.
"Ah, what's this?" Shen Qingqiu patted his head; in turn, his husband buried further into his lap, squeezing his waist. He remained silent, holding onto him,
"…Binghe?" Shen Qingqiu called again with a lilt of concern, "What's on your mind?"
"Apologies, Shizun," Luo Binghe's voice came out slightly muffled where his face hid in Shen Qingqiu's robes, "Allow this disciple to remain like this, just for a little while. He has missed Shizun terribly."
Instantly, warmth spread of Shen Qingqiu's chest, melting away the worry. Oh, this sticky sheep of his, he'd been waiting to cling to him! Incorrigible. Yet, Shen Qingqiu would never deny him. He was feeling particularly clingy himself tonight.
He carded his fingers through Luo Binghe's hair, "It has been a busy couple weeks, hasn't it?" his other hand settled on Luo Binghe's back, rubbing slow circles, "Binghe must be exhausted."
Luo Binghe melted at his touch, humming contently. He tilted his head, resting his cheek on Shen Qingqiu's lap, so he could peer up at him with one eye, creased at the corner, "All my exhaustion melts away when I'm with Shizun."
