Are there any public/state owned radios that (still) have interesting music shows? Or did it all became a major-label driven playlist machine? (BBC & ORF seem to be an exception)
@sunpeople Some late night shows on Bayern 2 are definitely worth checking out, for example this one: https://www.br.de/radio/bayern2/sendungen/zuendfunk #radio
Zündfunk: Das Szenemagazin | BR.de

Dein täglicher Begleiter für Pop, Politik, Netzkultur und soziale Bewegungen. Musik, Bands, Interviews, Popkultur und Gesellschaft, jeden Tag auf Bayern 2.

Take into account this perspective: by the business logic of Spotify to create national markets they now compete against each other (UK vs Germany for example) thus creating on the fly a new dominance for Schlager in Germany - a self fulfilling prophecy that it "caters for the German market" and also de-globalize music on the fly. Radio only enforces this echo-chamber.
@rob thanks so much for the input!! anyone else opinions and insights about this? #radio #publicradio #playlists #royalties #majorlabels #musicjournalism
