@sodiboo @Impossible_PhD @faithisleaping @SymTrkl don't worry - it is a bug and we're gonna fix it, but we're also planning support for an actual "schedule boost" feature that doesn't involve a hacky workaround!
@Impossible_PhD @faithisleaping @SymTrkl @sodiboo but full honesty - it might be a while before that's implemented. we're running on a skeleton crew and most of the team is handling Life ™️ for the foreseeable future. I've only got ~4 hours per week for Sharkey dev and I'm currently spending all that on anti-spam features

I assume the "hacky workaround" is "create a quote and put no contents and then schedule that" but I also use this to do regular unscheduled boosts fairly frequently, so I don't see why it is hacky when scheduled. that's just What a Boost Is. it's a "pure" ReNote with just a quote context and nothing else.
having a more discoverable way to schedule a boost (same way there's already a shortcut to make an unscheduled boost) is fine . but why does the current way need fixing? I find it very intuitive.

@Chloe @faithisleaping @Impossible_PhD @SymTrkl @sodiboo @MarkAssPandi it creates a real boost in the backend, so notifications should work. The "trick" is that boosts, quotes, and posts all go through the same codepath. By scheduling a quote with no other fields populated, the quote's JSON ends up looking like a boost instead, and the backend handles it as such.

the rocket boost button is convenient sure but it's just like, a shortcut to a pure renote. I actively think of the association in that direction, not the other way around that a pure renote gets reinterpreted as a boost.
