@jwz Sincere answer: Because sometimes in the context of the knowledge that the average person (trained on the last decade of "five websites each posting screenshots from the other four") won't bother clicking through, as annoying as that is, the desire to share an enjoyable cultural referent is worth posting an embed to spoon-feed 'em.

Or not, because sometimes eff those people's shared attention.
