So, I have (had?) good teachers. They are people whom I strongly admire. The better I get, the more amazing I find them to be and the more things I find hidden in the lessons they give (gave?) me. しかし there is still a considerable flaw in the system as it exists today. The flaw is, surprisingly, not native to the system itself but has been subtly induced throughout the ages.
いえ to be accurate, it is a consequence of employing low leveled classes as teachers. ただし it is a bit recursive. Low levels get small wages. So, institutions get small budgets. Small budgets are a deterrent for high levels. So institutions attract low levels that fit their budget. Worse, many high levels are absolutely shit at being teachers. Good students can learn from good or bad teachers. Good students are a minority
It gets worse. To keep their budgets, many educational institutions need to have a certain quantity of graduates. Bad students often fail or underperform. Students not graduating means the institution has a decrease in product. That decrease means an even smaller budget. Attracting even lower level classes as teachers. ただし schools have a lot in common with restaurants
A restaurant that sells good food in a bad neighborhood will survive. A restaurant that sells good food in a good neighborhood will propser. A restaurant that sells bad / average food in a good neighborhood will survive. A restaurant that sells bad / average food in a bad neighborhood will fail. The same analogy works with schools and teachers. So, schools in bad / average neighborhoods struggle. Good teachers are more scarce than good students
It gets even worse. The struggling schools are under increased pressure to produce graduates. The output quality must be lowered to achieve the desired quantity of results. This affects the neighborhood because low quality output deters high level classes even more. Shit like this is why the public sector is ゴルディアスの結び目。Not "it can not be helped" type but more like "even if it could be helped" type, it seems to me
誠にもって I can not tell if the recursion is intentional, incidental, or circumstantial at this point. To attract a high level class as a teacher, you need an attractive wage. Say a course is around 3,000 USD for ~8 45-minute lectures. 2 per week, 4 weeks in a month. Say an average school day is ~8hrs = 240 hrs = 14,400 minutes per month. That would be ~320 lectures. 14,400 / 45 minutes = 320. Which would be 40 sets of 8 lectures and ~120,000 USD per month (無理)
But most only teach for ~9 months. So, having a high leveled class as a teacher who only works at one school would be a total comp of ~1,080,000 USD per school year. (無理無理無理、全然だぜ) That would probably take care of any babysitting fees and mental health days, at 8 lectures per day in a 5 day work week. But most teachers are nowhere near that. Maybe 5% in total comp at best? ~6000 USD per month gross at best? (もういいですね)
A little bit obvious why the cycle exists だろうね?Not to mention the density of low levels in the wild. There are more people who have given up than there are those who have tried and failed. On average, you can probably safely expect 1 success out of 10 people. 3 of whom would have made genuine attempts. That means 7 of those 10 gave up along the way. Those 7 will do their absolute best to drag down the 3 who try. Then they will ridicule and mock the 1 who succeeds
これは世に説いて。It is not a matter of the system but is inherent to the culture. You see it in sitcoms and テレビ all the time. Nerds get mocked, ridiculed, and otherwise cast aside. In turn, they cast aside those who ridicule them. Ironic? はいだ。I did it, and I am sure others will continue to do it. Technically, I suppose I still do it... so not really much to say about that. これは現状維持だぜ。ただし the consequences of societal choices result in the recursion seen in the system today
え?How to change it? ハー the short answer is, "You do not." The only thing you can change is yourself だろう。Even something like "my kids will be different" will have a negligible effect. What is the population of the world? いえ。What is the population of your community? Divide that by 10. Then you have the number of groups of 10 I mentioned before. Divide that by 10 again. Then you have the maximum number of successes you can safely expect
その問題は the number is not linear. もしろ the number will probably decrease proportional to the size of the population. たから that is not something you change. 待って。待ーって待って待って待って。待ってをください。I got distracted. Wildlings. Right. 成果の最良は climbing the mountain for yourself. On the way, you will meet others who climb. Your paths may diverge, but the connections will remain (多分). Wildlings will have a harder time finding others but an easier time leveling. 再び restaurant in a neighborhood
Miyamoto様 was a wildling. How many stood in his way? The point is, regardless of your level now, your level in the future depends on your current choices. If you do nothing, you will at least have the company of the 7 others who gave up. If you at least try, you will have the company of the 3. If you keep trying until you succeed... you might be the only one. Success is not for the weak. I give a path but it is you who must climb
Make no mistake, I greatly respect my teachers and it is on their behalf that I am exceedingly displeased with the current state of affairs. To me, education should be the most highly appraised industry; the culmination and pinnacle of skills entrusted to the next generation by all other industries. Same as with kungfu, there should be no place for low levels as instructors. However, there is nothing to be done about it despite my frustration
