Surprise! I must’ve been less attentive in the garden this past week because I didn’t notice this pumpkin forming. It’s the first one so far. It fertilized itself and hasn’t suffered blossom end rot (yet!)

This is my first time growing Seminole pumpkins and I think I started them too early. I was excited lol. I have a few more seeds that I will start in August so that they can be ready by November, just in case the ones in the ground now don’t produce well. #zone10 #gardening #Florida

Update: I killed 2 of my 3 pumpkin plants. I saw some pest damage & tried to fix it with BT but didn’t dilute it enough and the leaves burned. Thankfully I have some seeds left to plant a second round.

Between climate challenges and my own mistakes, I’ve had a lot of discouragement in the garden. The thing that keeps me planting is: 1. I just like the activity and 2. Grocery store produce sucks. I can’t go back! #gardening #GardeningFailure

Oh that sucks. Sorry. Yeah, keep trying, some years, some things work well other years not so much. I've only been doing this for 5 years, but it's so much better tasting and I love my lower grocery prices, I'll never quit.
@KarenDorman I’ve learned that if you plant a lot and continuously, you’ll always have something to eat in the garden, even if some plants fail. Just. Keep. Planting. 🥬🍅🧅

😊 that's a great motto.
When we try new things, we often overdo it. The consequence is that we have lots to share with friends and co workers. It takes a few years to get the quantities right. And some years some crops do poorly for everyone nearby, so I don't have to (always) take the blame. 😁 Happy growing, happier eating!
