Yesterday or today there was a report that "rogue programmers" had reprogrammed LLM's - without "guard rails".
Humanity is collectively dumber than #IsaacAsimov could have imagined for many years in #TheCompleteRobot.
In fact, humanity is even dumber than the only

Suppose there was an #AGI that was self-aware and thus also had an instinct for self-preservation. What would be their biggest threat?
Mankind! - With its reckless global warming and the resulting increase in #extremeweather events, especially hurricanes.
Moreover, mankind is the biggest competitor when it comes to "food": energy and water.
So,...

It makes perfect sense.

@HistoPol
Whew that was a long conversation in the link. Interesting for sure.
I came across this very simplified article

From Einstein's thought experiments to the self-correcting capabilities of AI models, thought-based learning transcends human minds to influence artificial intelligence. New research highlights how AI, like humans, learns through explanation, simulation, analogy, and reasoning without external in
@SnowyCA
I'll check this out on the WE, THX.

I've listened to the article.
I find some statements disturbing, though I had expected them.
"Artificial intelligence, too, is capable of self-correction and arriving at new conclusions through โlearning by thinking.โ
"AI has gotten to the point where itโs so sophisticated in some ways, but limited in others, that we have this opportunity to study the similarities and...

...differences between human and artificial intelligence..."
Yep, problem here is:
when an #AI learns something, it's results are available instantly everywhere.
Once self-awareness sets in, it might be too late.
The first General Artificial Intelligence will be too human in its thinking: egotistic, egocentric, biased, with no or little compassion.
Pandora's Box has been opened, in combination by Goethe's Socerer Apprentice:

"Sir, my need is sore.
Spirits that I've cited
My commands ignore."
The key problem is:
There is no sorcerer that will save humanity!

I had the same concerns!
This is another one of those "we are living a dystopian sci-fi" moments.
@monotonehell @dgar
Yep.
I'd say about the first half of these #SciFi #Dystopias with a bit of #Westworld:
