En una de las últimas temporadas de la serie #westworld, la #IA finalmente toma el control de la población eliminando totalmente el libre albedrío. El común de la gente vive en una realidad alterada, bajo una vigilancia centralizada y ubicua, con la única libertad de movilizarse hacia el puesto de trabajo.
Las fuerzas de control son entes deshumanizados que actúan invisibles a plena luz del día, y los pocos que pueden conservar un pensamiento crítico fuera de la uniformidad, tienen que vivir en los márgenes del sistema y en completa paranoia ante la caza que se cierne sobre ellos.
¿Saben qué? La serie me encanta, me parece una descripción de la realidad con mejor iluminación y excelentes efectos visuales.

The #Transhuman plot kinda takes over after the 2nd episode. I found it interesting, but somehow, these recent stories (like #BSG and #WestWorld) always miss the first, most horrific part of transhumanism, exemplified in the protocols from #Robocop. These stories propose that artificial transhumans, manufactured by coorporations, will be totally free to think and move, and not have hard shutdown contingencies curbing their free will. 😵‍💫

Also, I hate to say it, but Alien Earth 2nd season would probably turn into the 2nd season of #WestWorld or the 4th season of #BattlestarGalactica: "You're a secret android, and you're a secret android, and you, yes you falling asleep in the corner, you too are a secret android!"

Really? The best they could do was #WestWorld?

I'll say this, though: despite what I read, this isn't nearly the cliffhanger ending of #RaisedByWolves. This story is pretty self-contained. Certainly, it's a bit open-ended, and the characters are stupid, but I get what happened here.

Kevin is satisfied. 🤷‍♂️

I just finished season 1 of westworld, and it was a masterpiece. I have been suggested that the following seasons are not good. I can very well end my watch and think of it as a miniseries. What would you do?

Also #delisting #WestWorld is an absolute #DickMove and doing so should make #HBO unable to ever hire anyone working for them, because they violated a de-facto unwritten rule in #ShowBiz, and that is paying staff based upon success because many don't get paid upfront or only a tiny portion.

  • Oftentimes the same #actors and #directors are also invested in a show or movie, if not coughing up substatial amounts of the financing to the point that they can keep a series afloat when the studio is having issues (looks at 2000s MGM in anger and disappointment)...

And this ain't limited to big budget productions, but is normal down to theaters, where actors sometimes get paid their cut of the ticket sales post-play.

  • This is in part due to the financial #risk of said productions and also to incentivize top acts to stay and perform their best.

And yes, #MovieProduction was #VentureCapital before #VC firms or even their founders existed!
