@nickm If I ever get to run a second-hand bookshop, I'm going to collect books on nuclear engineering, plastics chemistry, and the geology of oil wells, and file them all on a shelf labelled "unpopular science".

@darkling @nickm when I was 6 or 7 my teacher decided to combine teaching us how to find stuff in the library with teaching us how to stay safe. The book I picked was titled Nuclear Safety and it was about all the stuff nuclear power plants do to prevent meltdowns.
