@blub Who is in charge of wanderer.to, and why the hell would they think it remotely okay to put my content out there on their shitty site without permission, where it can and is indexed by google?
@KraftTea sorry I dont get your point? You complain about Föderation and not respecting private / public profilrs?

@blub Not complaining about Federation, though wanderer did apparently add federated support.

Specifically, though, they chose to create a demo on their site which they populated with people's data taken from Mastodon without permission, which is on their site and indexed by Google.

@KraftTea @blub

Hello, wanderer developer here. @KraftTea I assume this is you on reddit?

Your mastodon bio and profile are publicly available:
https://mastodon.social/@KraftTea

If you have a public profile on the fediverse, you have to be aware that other federated services are accessing and displaying that data. wanderer, being a federated service, simply displays that data and does not steal it.

mastodon is btw also indexed by google:
https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=https%3A%2F%2Fmastodon.social%2F%40KraftTea

@[email protected] @blub Don't be inane.

There is a difference between one's content being available by link where you choose it hosted, and one's content being PUT somewhere without prior permission, where it is exposed to bots, scrapers, etc.
I block that here.

@Gargron , the admin of Mastodon.social, specifically has policies that block ANY use of their content in such a manner. But you ignored those policies to populate your demo with Mastodon.social user data. It's a clear violation of privacy.

@flomp @blub Your continued use of my content on your site is in apparent violation of German data privacy laws, btw. If you refuse to correct the problem for me and for everyone else whose data you used in this way without prior notification, I would be more than glad to let you sort out the matter with German authorities. Your choice.
