A Sad Farewell to a #CouchPeloton Legend. It's with a heavy heart that I share some incredibly sad news with our #CouchPeloton community. Our beloved member, John Englart, has passed away.
He was here with us on the #CouchPeloton as recently as stage 8. John was more than just a fellow rider; he was an extraordinary local advocate whom I had the immense pleasure of working alongside for many years. His dedication and passion for our community were truly inspiring. John tirelessly campaigned for better cycling infrastructure, the duplication of the Upfield line, climate action and so many other local issues. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rest in peace, John. Your legacy will ride on. ❤️ #CouchPeloton #JulietandJones
@EveryDayInTheGarden oh Jodi that's terribly sad. Condolences to you: I hope someone's looking after the chickywawas?
@Sophoife it’s absolutely devastating. I’m sure John’s daughter will look after them well.

@EveryDayInTheGarden oh good. I'm going to enter them in FRATL with the median (I think that's the term, I am not a maths person) time for each remaining stage, it was a light-hearted thing John did, so in memory of him.

I did think it odd there were no entries for stages 9 and 10 - very unlike John.

@Sophoife that’s a lovely thing to do 🥰 Very fitting.
@EveryDayInTheGarden at the end I'll ask you to please kindly take a copy for John's family, who may or may not care, but he was such a faithful player.
@Sophoife I will absolutely do that 😉👍
