We have a resident colony in the area that have realised that people who come near them generally want to feed them, so they've learned not to be so grumpy, just very noisy.

I think ours have learned to get the best of both worlds by giving off a “feed me or I will eat you” vibe.
There are plenty of “don’t feed the geese” signs along the embankment.
